Networks provide mutual assistance and support that facilitates sharing of information and services among individuals and groups. Constant feedback and strong participation indicates that networks are serving the nine Kane County school districts and their staffs well through sharing of best practices, working together to solve common problems and providing savings through collaborative program development. Collaborative professional development opportunities are regularly developed like the annual county wide institute day resulting in saving precious budget dollars.
The networks are prominently mentioned as a benefit for new members as they gain expertise from experienced colleagues throughout the region. Regional office of education leadership also participates in area and statewide networks like regional superintendents, administrators’’ academy coordinators, professional development directors, safe school directors and technology directors among others.
The ROE has established the following networks with the nine K-12 school districts in its jurisdiction:
Kane County Learning Leaders (directors of curriculum and instruction)
Kane County Human Resources Consortium (human resources directors)
Facilities Managers Network
Gifted Education Directors
Northern Illinois Association w/ Special Education Directors
